It’s the end of November. We have all started thinking about Christmas. Maybe we even put out our tree and decorations. We also started (at least thinking of) buying our gifts. And clothes. And a few other items during the sales.
Amidst the year-end rush to wrap up work, parties and gifts, today is the day to take a moment and think about what the holidays are really about: GIVING.
As Idaho Jones, we decided to do our part and donate 30% of all sales today to the Global Fund for Children.
Today is Giving Tuesday, the day to do good stuff for charity and start the season of giving. It doesn’t only have to be monetary donations. You can volunteer, shop from conscious businesses, donate old clothes, give a homeless person a muffin… The options are only limited by your imagination. You can find more information on how to get involved here (for the UK) and here (for the US).
Giving Children Opportunity
The Global Fund for Children (GFC) has the mission of transforming the lives of the world’s most vulnerable children. It does this by supporting innovative community-based organisations that provide services and programs for children to whom governments and large aid organisations often do not reach. To date, GFC has awarded around $35 million in grants to more than 600 organizations in 78 countries, serving 10 million children worldwide.
Idaho Jones and the Global Fund for Children
We aim to make life easier for young families and parents with our bags. Fortunately, our customers have their basic needs covered. They care deeply about their children and do their best to give them every opportunity they can. They do not need to worry about abuse or schooling.
Millions of children around the world do not have the same good fortune. The programmes that GFC supports makes a huge difference in the lives of some of these children, lifting them out of poverty, helping them recover from or escape abuse and get an education.
In order to help the Global Fund for Children continue making this amazing difference, we are donating to them 30% of all our sales today. You can view our collection here.
