📏 Sizing

To size Cushy: measure your nipple base, then add 0–4mm. Most moms land at +2mm.

First try the flange with your exact measurement, or round down if you're an even size. If not comfortable, try the next size up.

Example:
Nipple base measures 18 mm → try 17 & 19 mm flanges as the first two options.

  • Before First Use

    • Disassemble all parts
    • Wash in warm soapy water
    • Rinse well with clean water
    •  SUBMERGE PARTS IN A LARGE POT OF WATER AND BOIL FOR THREE (3) MINUTES. This step is crucial to maximize your flange's suction performance.
    • Shake off excess water and air-dry on a dedicated rack or clean cloth
  • After Each Use

    • Separate the flanges from the base connector
    • Wash in warm soapy water
    • Rinse well
    • Shake off excess water and air-dry on a dedicated rack or clean cloth
    • Do not wash in the dishwasher. This can damage your flanges and shorten their lifespan.
    • Cushy Flanges CAN be washed in baby bottle washers.
  • How to Sanitize

For the longest lifespan, we recommend UV or cold-water sterilization. These methods are gentler on silicone and help your flanges last longer.

Can I sanitize in the baby bottle washer?

Yes, steam sterilization is safe but it will shorten the life span of your flanges.

  • Do I Need to Replace Cushy Silicone Flanges?

If you use cold water or UV sterilization, you do not need to replace your flanges for at least a year.

If you do use steam sterilization and notice weaker suction, slipping, or the silicone feels less supportive, it’s time to replace them. How often you need to replace them will depend on how frequently you pump.

🧴 Lubrication

If Cushy feels sticky or uncomfortable at first, try a small amount of:

• pumping spray
• olive oil
• coconut oil

Most moms only need this during the first few weeks until they get used to the silicone.

  • Step 1. Check your connector

Make sure you have the right base connector (check above)

  • Step 2. Twist + push into the base

Insert Cushy firmly for a secure fit

  • Step 3. Add lubrication if needed
Use a little spray, olive oil, or coconut oil if the flange feels sticky or painful

  • Step 4. Use the flip-back trick
Position the flange on the nipple, then flip back for a snug seal

  • Step 5. Start pumping
You may need slightly higher suction than with plastic flanges.

🔧 Troubleshooting

My flange feels loose

Twist and push it more firmly into the base connector.

My output dropped

Try increasing suction slightly. Silicone absorbs some vacuum.

My nipple rubs the tunnel

You may need a larger size.

The flange slips

Try the flip-back trick for a more secure seal

I’m not sure I have the right connector
